About our fast
The fast begins Sunday, 1/11 & goes through Saturday, 1/17. We will come together for a night of worship on Wednesday, 1/14, and we will break the fast together at services on Sunday, 1/18 with Communion.
Fasting is abstaining from certain or all foods for a period of time for the purpose of drawing near to God.
In Matthew 6, Jesus said: “When you fast…” These three words are an assumption that His followers would partake in the spiritual discipline of fasting. At Christian Life, we believe fasting is essential to spiritual development & warfare. So, we want to come together for a concentrated season of seeking the Lord.
We are doing a Daniel Fast. This type of fast is abstaining from all meats, sweets, breads & dairy.
Fasting is a means of drawing near to God, spiritual development & breakthrough. Your specific purpose is personal. You may focus on family needs, marriage, direction, clarity, or simply to come closer to the Lord.
While we realize everyone is not physically able to fast, we are calling all who can. Even minors can participate with parental permission.
